Microsoft was just awarded a patent for software that makes its maps more pedestrian-friendly. It has been dubbed the “Avoid Ghetto” feature.
By tapping into crime statistics it will suggest “safer” routs for users.
I wonder when I’ll meet the first client that says, “My GPS says this is not a safe neighborhood.”
